The Invisible War

The Invisible War
Directed by Kirby Dick
Produced by Amy Ziering

A groundbreaking investigative documentary about one of our country’s most shameful and best-kept secrets, The Invisible War reveals the epidemic of rape within the U.S. military—and exposes the humiliating choice many soldiers are forced to make between speaking up and serving their country.

In a full-service, yearlong booking campaign initiated in early 2012, Film Sprout booked more than 950 community, campus and military screenings of The Invisible War, creating a vast grassroots forum for the film’s call-to-action: policies that will ensure rape is adequately prosecuted within the armed services. Booking services included designing and executing a national community screening initiative; forging outreach and action partnerships with active-duty military, veterans and sexual assault prevention organizations; designing and producing promotional and discussion materials; and liaising with the film’s educational, theatrical and home DVD distributors to maximize distribution opportunities beyond the community screenings effort.
