A Small Act’s Chris Mrubu was a child living in Kenya when he first received a $15 scholarship from an anonymous Swedish donor, Hilde. Hilde’s humble but steady scholarship put Chris through school and eventually launched him into Harvard Law, paving the way for his job as a United Nations attorney and revealing just how powerful kindness can be.

In an eight-month, full-service booking campaign following the film’s premiere at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, Film Sprout booked 200 community screenings in North America, helping to fuel more than one million dollars in pledges and donations to Chris Mburu’s Hilde Back Education Fund. Booking services included designing and executing a national community screening initiative; forging outreach and action partnerships with like-minded organizations; creating website copy and press materials; and liaising with the film’s educational and home DVD distributors to maximize distribution opportunities beyond the community screenings effort.
